Small update on my modeling progress, since I'm not working on the comics till this is done I thought it was relevant. i'm almost finished with the torso. working on the pelvic region now, the man is in dire need of an arse. It's weird that i'm spending so much time on these bits, considering they'll be covered by clothing and I havn't even started the head hands or arms yet, which'll be visible alot more, mysterious.

******06/08/08**** couldn't resist, new comic is up. If any one reading you deserve it for being immensly patient, new one may be a while though sorry.
Never thought this day would come again, an update, it's been 8 months since the last. Any who i've been plodding along with cg stuff, and now that i have a 2 month gap till my course starts again I've gotten back into my lameframe groove, I actually have a new comic for you but you can't see it no no. I want to build up a buffer of pages, everything is going to work properly this time round, 6th times the charm and all that, any way i'm probably just talking to myself. I've got alot planned for this site, and it's all half way down the pipeline, the first major story ark is all planned out and only needs a final draft, with a few more roughed out for the future. Lets hope we get that far. I've also writen a ton of back story about the universe setting and history that should one day make it into a character/world bio's section, with all sorts of cool 3d character video's, maps and things, ahh to dream.
I estimate the comics will begin again in a few weeks, I'm going to visit family, for 2 weeks soon, but I hope to have pencils done for a few pages so I can work on inks and colours while away. In the mean time i've done a few things, nothing majorly exciting. but have a look see.
The tree is a re work of one of the ones below the colours never really sat righ with me, and the torso is a work in prog. for a 3d models of one of the characters soon to appear in the comic, since that pic i've toned down the buffness somewhat. Bellow are some shots from the work i've been doing at uni, they're all CG 3D stuff, In my infinite wisdom I apparently deleated all the original images used to make the video of the little house so I had to grab some video stills, so the quality suffers slightly.
I need to update my portfolio section once I do i'll put the video's up so you can see them, or at least a version of them the rabbit was a group project, and as a whole came out... incoherant would best describe it, so you can a have a digested version.

I had writen a post on some of my deeper ponderings, a long winded line of thoughts that meandered from place to place and never really reached a conclusion, I think it was more for myself than something I actually intended to post, a sort of speach to myself with the ultimate result of pull your finger out and get on with stuff. The university I go to has been of patchy usefullness but then you get out what you put in, as we keep getting told you have to go learn for yourself, seems strange logic when your paying 3k a year, but it has very much been the case and it make some sense. I'm doing well on my course better than most, but that limited success came from independant practice over the summer, something which over the past month or so has tapered off, I can make my excuses and point towards an unusually long string of birthdays and one off events, that have led to more days lost to hang over recovery than remaining productive ones, but it's rubbish really, The fact is I've been squandering my time, and it has to stop, so for the 3rd time in as many weeks i'm telling myself to go shower brush my teeth, do the washing, finish your work and start drawing practice again, to regain that lost edge. With any luck it'll stick this time.

Hey people, James Tim or Jermain if your reading this, the picture below is my idea for the mascot, get jermain to have a look at it if he's not seen it. I'll look into a chibi-ing her soon. I kept her as a normal girl so that her costume or hair style can change as needs be, but the 2 coloured hair and funny curly fringe will hopefully let people recognize her. I stuck her in a couple of costumes below, have a look see and let me know what you think.

For anyone else reading you won't have a clue what I'm going on about but you'll probably be out numbered by the previously mentioned 3 persons, such is the state of my reader base these days. Basically i've been asked to come up with a mascot for a new anime society in lincoln, and this's what I've come up with.
In relation to my real work I'm discarding the castle thingy below, actually I discarded that one a while ago, rebuilt it again, better, bigger. Then decided I didn't like the idea any more and am going to build this now.
I'll probably put a little medieval settlement near it, and if I have time I'll put the little witch who lives in the house under the tree, it'll all be quaint and sweet and lovely. I hope.
