I had writen a post on some of my deeper ponderings, a long winded line of thoughts that meandered from place to place and never really reached a conclusion, I think it was more for myself than something I actually intended to post, a sort of speach to myself with the ultimate result of pull your finger out and get on with stuff. The university I go to has been of patchy usefullness but then you get out what you put in, as we keep getting told you have to go learn for yourself, seems strange logic when your paying 3k a year, but it has very much been the case and it make some sense. I'm doing well on my course better than most, but that limited success came from independant practice over the summer, something which over the past month or so has tapered off, I can make my excuses and point towards an unusually long string of birthdays and one off events, that have led to more days lost to hang over recovery than remaining productive ones, but it's rubbish really, The fact is I've been squandering my time, and it has to stop, so for the 3rd time in as many weeks i'm telling myself to go shower brush my teeth, do the washing, finish your work and start drawing practice again, to regain that lost edge. With any luck it'll stick this time.

Hey people, James Tim or Jermain if your reading this, the picture below is my idea for the mascot, get jermain to have a look at it if he's not seen it. I'll look into a chibi-ing her soon. I kept her as a normal girl so that her costume or hair style can change as needs be, but the 2 coloured hair and funny curly fringe will hopefully let people recognize her. I stuck her in a couple of costumes below, have a look see and let me know what you think.

For anyone else reading you won't have a clue what I'm going on about but you'll probably be out numbered by the previously mentioned 3 persons, such is the state of my reader base these days. Basically i've been asked to come up with a mascot for a new anime society in lincoln, and this's what I've come up with.
In relation to my real work I'm discarding the castle thingy below, actually I discarded that one a while ago, rebuilt it again, better, bigger. Then decided I didn't like the idea any more and am going to build this now.
I'll probably put a little medieval settlement near it, and if I have time I'll put the little witch who lives in the house under the tree, it'll all be quaint and sweet and lovely. I hope.

Hi people been a while, update! stopped working on the space ship for a while. uni work takes priority. So here's some of said uni work.
That be a room, ooooh I hear you say, yea pretty boring but it's work after all not gonna be too interesting. Now my major project this semester is environment design, this is what I've got in my head, this is only a couple of days mock up, there is much work to do yet but you get a reasonable idea.
and this little movie which I built to practice making outdoor environments looks pretty good but again it needs work which it will never get but these are just small practice clips not finished pieces, sorry you have to download the avi, I lost my flash
preloader in my hardrive fire and it's 3 in the morning so i can't be bothered to make a new one now, or figure out how to make an avi play properly, it's only 3.5 odd meg anyhow, should go pretty quick. That's all folks, see you again soon! |
